Great, works as advertised with a little practice. Worth the cost in time savings and much less aggrevation!

Working alone? There is NO question: You need these!

I recently finished siding my 2-story colonial with 5.25" (4" exposure) Hardie Boards. It took me about 3 springs/summers of weekends since I did 99% of it completely alone.

I did not start using these until last year (year 3). At that point I only had 25% of the house done. Between these gauges, pump jacks, and a pneumatic siding nailer, I got nearly the other 75% done in one season. But if I could have only kept one tool that was an absolute necessity for working alone, it would have been these.

They are easy to set up and insert, and do a great job holding a course on the wall, especially when working alone. When butt-joining, I would hang a piece on these, then remove the one nearer to the joint and use the other as just a support or "shelf."

Here is my advice as a homeowner who installed Hardieboards by himself:
1. Get these gauges!
2. Expect that over many squares, the bottom edges might get a little worn, perhaps requiring a gentle tap with a hand or hammer to get them to sit on the top course quickly.
3. If you are using the 5.25 (4" exposure) boards, you should STILL use some type of measurement gauge. The 5.25" does in fact dip slightly if you put the gauges near each end of a 12' board. I don't know if this happens with the bigger exposure boards but I would guess that it is not as much. Also, you may have to make your own measurement gauge for the 4" exposure. The Malco one starts at 5"

I really like this stapler!!!

I haven't used my new stapler very long, but it seems to work flawlessly. For the price, I don't think you could go wrong buying a Porter-Cable prod. At my job, I use a Bostich stapler a lot, it has the mag. body, but does not seem to perform any better.......Brownsboro, TX.

Great for Flooring

I own a flooring company and we use staplers for lauan every day i have had some Bostich ones but they jam and it takes 10 mins to clear b/c of screws holding on the nosepiece - i love the PC b/c of its price and ease of use. it has a great nosepiece for cleaning out pesky jams not that i have had to use it yet. have shot over 20,000 staples so far with it and has had no issues will continue to buy PC in the future.

Powerful, light, well built and a good price

Once again, a Porter-Cable air tool is well made, powerful and works well - all at a good price.

I've used mine for about a year with great success. It doesn't jam, as one reviewer mentioned, and is very reliable.

It's small enough to get into tight spaces, and has a rotating vent on the top so you can point the exiting air in a direction away from your face or the pile of sawdust.

I have used it for making boxes, attaching weather stripping, holding sound deadening board to a wall, and for many other projects.

It was inexpensive to buy, and the staples are easily available.

I keep buying PC air tools because they work well and are priced low.

Fat Max Tape Mesure

I bought two Fat Max Tape Measures. The deal was good, fast shipping, great product.

Durable, well made tool

Without repeating the praise from previous reviewers for its standout and ease of use, I wish to note the exceptional durability of this tool. The Stanley Fat Max has a remarkable ability to survive falls. I have dropped this tape many times from up to 24 feet. Other than minor cosmetic blemishes, I find no visible damage to the tape measure after months of daily service in remodeling. The mechanism, tape, and mylar coating are also in very good condition after hard use.

In response to a previous reviewer's concern about using the Fat Max in harsh weather, I use my tape regularly for masonry work and other tasks which expose the tool to moisture. I have yet to see signs of corrosion or deterioration of the mechanism. Worth the money, useful features, and tough as nails.

Who designed this?

I've been stymied trying to find the width of the Fat Max's body to calculate the total length. I measured it with another tape (irony) at 3 1/4" but wondered why there wasn't an indication on the housing. Finally, with my arm's-length near eyesight I found a molded legend that's almost covered by the belt clip. Pisspoor product design, but it's a Stanley tradition. Even with reading glasses its hard to read the reflective chrome plated numerals on earlier Stanley tapes I've owned. I wrote a big "+3 1/4" on the case with a Sharpie and vow to avoid Stanley products in the future.

This product works so well and is so easy to use my 5 y.o. son and 88 y.o. grandma can operate it. I just ordered more.

Wonderful Gardena Product!

Love the hose attachments from Gardena. So easy on my wrists and arthritic fingers. They hold up beautifully in the Arizona sun, and unless I accidentally step on a connection, are holding up for many years. Our local hardware store stopped carrying the Gardena attachments and I was so delighted to find them at Amazon.

Watering Made Easy

Anybody who is still walking back to the spigot and twisting the end of a cold dirty hose eveytime they want to move a sprinkler is living in the last century.
